He is my Hero

When my wife died in an accident almost an year ago the only reason for me to live was my 3 year old son. He was the second best thing that ever happened to me after my wife. He used to consider me his hero as I was a rescue pilot he always insisted that I take him on my missions.

One day I got a call at work that a school bus had dropped in the river due to heavy rain and slippery roads I fired up my helicopter and flew there as fast as I could.

There was zero visibility due to heavy rain so it took us a while, Until we pulled the victims out....the driver and the two kids they were half gone. After rescuing the victims I flew back to the hospital as fast as I could when suddenly my fellow rescue pilot patted on my shoulder. Give me the handle I think you should go check the patients in the back.I replied

? You can do it.His reply was
go mate!.His vocal intensity made me realize that something was wrong. So I went back and after seeing what was lying back there I fell to my knees and almost fainted.I just saw my son lying coughing out blood and water I heard him whispering
..I want my Daddy.Tears rolled down my cheek as I held his hand he whispered
don't worry you'll save me you're my hero and don't cry even if I go mommy will be in heaven to take care of me. I couldn't even speak or breath it was like something held my throat. As I held his hand he slowly faded away.

Next day at his funeral there was a thunderstorm after the funeral I walked around the city drunk just sobbing and the flashbacks of my past time spent with my wife and son haunted me the first when I saw my wife and the for the first I held my baby in my hands, I had already gave up on life losing my wife and son in an year was too much for me. The pain was unbearable I could not endure it as it was too much for me the only two reasons for me to live had left me, I couldn't stand it I went for the river which killed my son then I just stood on the edge of the river and whispered I'm coming Aaron and Jane don't you worry then I went away.
